8 TrailheaDX Sessions You Shouldn't Skip

June 1, 2016

At TrailheaDX, the Salesforce Developer conference, there will be opportunities to get hands-on with over 35 technical sessions! The CRM Science Lab Coats have reviewed the the TrailheaDX agenda and have picked 8 sessions we are looking forward to most.

Build a Context-Aware Lightning Component DEVELOPER HANDS-ON TUESDAY 1:00 - 2:30

"I’m interested in this topic because Record and Home customization has been a feature that was in pilot until the upcoming Summer ’16 release. With this going live, it removes a huge road block to using lightning components more often, and building context aware components is going to become a skill we’ll all need to know." -Richard Tuttle, Senior Developer

Mastering Lightning Framework - Part 1 & 2- WARFIELD TUESDAY 1:00 - 1:50pm, 2:10 -3:00pm

We know that Salesforce is moving to Lightning. But many developers haven't dug into the finer points of the Lightning framework. The sessions will cover the same training that Salesforce engineers receive during their on-boarding. Topics covered will be, component Definition including component-based architecture, component structure, component implementation and key components.

Basic Bot Integration with Salesforce App Cloud DEVELOPER HANDS-ON TUESDAY 3:20 - 4:50

"I am definitely curious to see how good this kinda thing has evolved since the good old days of SmarterChild and quake3 bots. It will be very useful for my side-project." -Yad Jayanth, Technical Lead

SLDS and Lightning Components VILLAGE TUESDAY 3:20 - 4:10

"It seems SLDS is rapidly improving and expanding each time I look at it. Just like a picture tells 1,000 words, sitting in on a session or two would be great to see how others are utilizing SLDS in their apps." -Kirk Steffke, AppExchange Practice Lead

Introduction to the Wave Platform API - VILLAGE WEDNESDAY 9:00 - 9:50am

"I'm looking forward to learning about how Wave can be utilized via Visualforce, Lightning, Apex, REST.   Examples and use cases will be interesting to see with this new platform." -Mike Katulka, Technical Lead

JavaScript Security with Lightning Locker Service - Village WEDNESDAY 11:30 - 12:30pm
We're curious about Locker Service, which is a relatively new feature of the Lightning Component Framework. It serves to manage JavaScript security while rendering Lightning applications. Josh Birk is a guy we like, trust, and learn a ton from. He'll give the background on why Locker Service is necessary, what we'll need to know to implement and the advantages it offers the platform.

Being Productive with React Native and Salesforce MobileSDK - WARFIELD WEDNESDAY 12:40 - 1:30pm

"I'm consumed by all things Salesforce so often, that I'm automatically attracted to sessions about SF technologies.  That's why I'm looking forward to this session to kick me outside of my normal path and give me some new points of reference in my architecture & design work." -Mike Katulka, Technical Lead
